Remote Assistance

This is a feature provided under the Help command to transmit a message to OEC to request support.

This is a feature of Windows XP that allows a user on one computer to temporarily control another user's remote Windows computer over a network or the internet to resolve issues. It allows a system administrator or technical support to diagnose and often repair problems with a computer without ever personally visiting it.

  1. To access it, click on Help and select Remote Assistance window. Refer to the Figures below.

  2. Send an email to support@openecry.com to request support.

  3. Or, click Ok to close the in the Remote Assistance window to display the Help and Support Center webpage. Refer to the Figure below.

  5. Or, click on Copy to Clipboard to display the Help and Support Center webpage. Refer to the Figure above.

  6. For the new beginner, to add and bookmark this page on the computer, click on the button Add to Favorites.

  7. Or, click on the blue hyperlink; Copy to Clipboard, to display the Help and Support Center webpage.  Refer to the Figure above.

  8. Or, click on the hyperlink; Invite someone to help you, to display the Windows Messenger window.

  9. Or, click on the hyperlink; Ask a friend to help, in the left column under Support in the Help and Support Center window.  Refer to the Figures below.

  10. To view the invitation status for the request, click on the hyperlink; View invitation status, to display the status bar. Refer to the Figure above.

  12. Or, enter an email address or select one from the address book in Outlook.  Refer to the Figure below.

  13. Click on the hyperlink; Tell me about connections issues, to review the items in the checklist that may resolve the issue. Refer to the Figure below.
