New Account Online Process-Complete an application online with OEC through https://www.openecry.com/openaccount/applyonline.cfm to receive a Username and Password for the trial period in the simulated environment or for production.
Software Connectivity- Establish outbound connections to ports 9200 and 9201 through the personal PC firewall.
Login-Enter Username and Password and check Auto Reconnect to display the Default Layout landing page.
Contract Setup-Review the procedures of this section in this document.
Note the three main categories in the Filter menu:
Futures (Displays only futures contracts)
Options (Displays only options contracts)
Strategies ( Displays futures and options together with contract detail that include sides, month/year spreads, butterfly, bundles, packs, strips, condors, and put/call, etc.
Select the contracts for trade to display in OEC Quotes and orders screens.
Check the Quotes window in the Default Layout to confirm the display of selected contracts.
Review the differences between symbols for futures and symbols for options.
Confirmation and Notifications-Check all the order alerts in Orders drop-down to activate these items. (Recommended procedures are in this document.)
Orders-Review the order screens (tabs) on the Default Layout.
Account-Review and verify the financial balance information and account number(s).
Reports-Select a format (View, PDF or Print) and generate a report.
